The Sundered Age

The world has been forgetting itself.

The Sundered Age exists between what is remembered and what has been erased: languages that no longer hold their meanings, ruins no one can explain, and a First Age that survived only in stone.

The Drevari

The Firstborn are living mineral, threaded with kallite, and carrying inherited memory back to the First Age.

Kallite

A luminous mineral that responds to truth. It is not a weapon. It is a witness.

The Unmaking

A wound in reality that learned hunger. It erases meaning before it destroys matter.

Languages

Vel-Drath and its mortal shadow.

Vel-Drath is the Speech of the First Age: angular, stone-cut, and written in concentric rings. Proto-Veranthi is the elvish adaptation that softened some of those forms for ink and quill.

The tablet’s secret is not only what it says, but how it must be read: outer ring to inner ring, toward the core truth.

Humans

Adaptable, ambitious, politically dominant, and dangerously short-memoried.

Elves

Long-lived, linguistically gifted, and vulnerable to elegant mistranslation.

Dwarves

Stone-recorders, deep-tunnelers, and ruin-walkers with old guilt beneath their halls.

Wrenfolk

Small, careful, underestimated — and occasionally the exact kind of person history requires.

Orcs

Oral historians and spirit-readers, accurate long before anyone believes them.

Drevari

The Firstborn. Not dead. Waiting.
